What work has happened so far?

The Town submitted their tree planting grant application. 

A letter was received, dated November 14th 2024, that confirmed that the Town of Mahone Bay had been approved for a grant through the Growing Canada's Community Canopies program. 

FCM officially announced the Town's grant approval, as well as other projects across Canada on their website, as a news release. 

Town staff picked up 32 trees from a local nursery, that will be planted this fall. 

The Town held a public engagement event at the Community Room in the Fire Hall to do with the upcoming tree planting project. 

The Town held an event at the tree monument in Jubilee Park to officially unveil the names of the tree donors from the past year. 

36 trees were planted in the municipal rights of way, in residential areas of Mahone Bay.
